Adele by Marc Shapiro
After reading the first two chapters of my book, I've learned a lot more about Adele's past than I've expected. I plan to read roughly 60 pages a week and the book is 220 pages long so I should get this done very quickly. I'm excited to fully learn about Adele's upbringing and how she got famous because each story is unique and I don't know anything about her's.
Chapter 1:
- I first learned about Adele's father abandoning their family at a very young age
- I read about all of the awards she's won, the introduction was an overview of her fame
- This chapter also talked about Adele's background of where she grew up but very briefly
Chapter 2:
- The author talked about how Adele's ground breaking album "21" was basically all about a bad breakup that she had with her last boyfriend
- The author went more in depth on how Adele's parents met in a bar and their story of how they "got intimate almost immediately."
- This part talked about why Adele's father left and very briefly went into it but it randomly cut off at the chapter, so I hope I find out more about that. It was also mentioned that Adele almost refuses to talk about her father but she says that she would spit on him if she had the chance. She doesn't even try to hid her hatred.
So far, I really like the book. I think its very interesting and its written clearly to tell the story of Adele's upbringing as she will go down into history. I think her family troubles with her father are very intersting and I'm intrigued to learn more.

My Goals Sure Are Smart
I have two conflicting goals. I like to think of it as a competition. My goals are fighting each other to decide my future. One way turns out with me ends with me being a producer at 21 and the other as a famous musician at 19-20 years old, somewhere around there.
GOAL #1 - To become a famous musician before college
GOAL #1 - To become a famous musician before college
- This goal is short, sweet, and to the point. There's a whole load of stuff that it takes to get there but that would take an essay to explain.
- This goal is measurable. I want to become famous before college for a few reasons. First off, in my genre of music, the younger the better for the industry. It's more "impressive" to record executives. Another reason is I don't want to be in the middle of getting my degree and having something happen where I'd have to choose one over the other.
- I honestly believe that my goal is attainable. I can't force anything to happen, unfortunately no one can but I've been working so hard lately, so why not now?
- This goal is definitely realistic, it's just what I was put on this earth to do.
- I don't have a specific date because I can't but in a perfect world, I would like this to happen before college.
- I know exactly what I need to do to get to this goal and how to do it. The way that I'm going for is to get my bachelor's degree in Sound Arts at Ex'pression college and continue internships and well known studios to create contacts and connections. That way, when I graduate college, I can get hired immediately in a studio and work my way up.
- This goal is easily measurable because it involves school, which is built off a schedule and that is pretty much set up for me as it stands.
- I have nothing getting in my way to make this goal happen. I've been writing since I was a little kid and engineering/producing music since around 5th grade.
- This goal is also realistic, all I have to do is work my way up and keep connections.
- I know that I can get my degree by the time I'm 21. With no summer breaks, I can do this in two and a half years.

Goalstination
I feel extremely lucky. I know that I'm surrounded with people who believe in me and really know that I can do whatever I set my mind to. And I'm forever grateful for that. It really means the world to me.
My top five that help me with everything they can are:
1. My family (parents with pushing me forward and my brother helping me with videos)
2. My fans (best fans in the world)
3. All of my friends
4. My girlfriend
5. My idols (they keep me always pushing myself to the limit and constantly inspire me, kind of cheesy but true)
Oh, procrastination my biggest enemy. Five things that I've been procrastinating and are going to do this week are:
1. Organizing the files on my computer and backing them up
2. Fix my 2 zeros in iQuest
3. Clean my room (my desk especially)
4. Clean and organize the practice space
5. Intonate all of my guitars

Track 2
I have a countless number of goals that I want to accomplish within the next year, let alone the next 5 or 10. First and foremost, I want to continue writing and practicing as much as possible. Another one of my close future goals is to really work our social media sites. All of what record companies and venues are looking at now is numbers on band's sites. We really need to get our Facebook numbers up and my goal by the end of the year is to have something like 5,000 likes as we currently only have about 560. I know this is kind of a stretch but I really think we can do it. I'm going to continue putting up covers on YouTube and promoting my band through annotations on the video and hoping that helps along with playing a lot of shows.
In 5 years, I really hope to be signed to Hopeless Records and on tour. I honestly don't want anything more than to go on tour. I know that it's what I was made to do and I'm going to go all for it. I know that many musicians don't make it but I feel like I really have my chance and that it's really going to happen for me.
In the next 10 years, I hope to be settling down from touring and starting either my own record label and recording upcoming artists and/or writing for other artists. I really wish that by that time I'll have enough money to be able to start a family and begin that next chapter of my life but that's way too far in the future for me to worry about now! All I'm going to focus on is my music.

From The Top
Age 17 has been the turning point of my life. I've always talked about something but never put an action to my words. I'm finally ready to get going full force and pursue my dream of being a Sound Artist. I've always had plans to get signed and to produce my own music and now it feels so great to have a solid base to work off of. I have so many different things that I want to do and I honestly don't know where to start right now but all I know is that I'll have no free time. One of my goals is to engineer, write and produce my band's album by February or March of 2013. I also hope to get an internship at Hopeless Records in Van Nuys after high school and get my name known there because that is where I eventually want to sign to. So far, I've been working on what seems like countless hours of drum tracks for my band's LP! I've also spending a lot of time marketing and promoting my band on facebook, twitter and tumblr. Please like us on facebook (; Academically, I basically just want to get through high school and be able to spend all of my time on music. I'm really excited for this year and I think a lot of unexpected things are going to happen and I can't wait to find out what those things are.
